Welcome to the YMCA Edens Landing Outside School Hours Care service. We are delighted you have chosen to become part of our YMCA Edens Landing OSHC community and look forward to learning about your family. YMCA became part of the Edens Landing State School community in 2017 and we are excited to be a permanent fixture in the future of Edens Landing State School. As a service, we strive to ensure all young people are provided with opportunities to belong, learn, grow and be happy.
Our Program
Our Program is developed according to the My Time Our Place Framework and is centralised around the elements of Belonging, Being and Becoming. Through our program we have created an environment which is safe, inclusive, diverse, engaging and fun. By learning through play, our children are encouraged to discover and explore their world and cultivate a sense of self. We believe all children are born with the desire and ability to develop, learn and explore and deserve to have opportunities and experiences that challenge their diverse needs. Our service also delivers a specialised program for our Prep children to support their transition into Primary school. This program provides opportunities for pre children to engage in activities which support their social and emotional development and encourages growth and independence. Inclusion Support and Behaviour Management.
The YMCA has a full-time Inclusion Support Coordinator who offers hands on support to each of our services. If your child has an additional need, or a behavioural concern and you feel they may need a little extra support in the OSHC program, please contact us and we’ll be pleased to meet with you in person or over the telephone to ascertain exactly what support is required. The YMCA are industry leaders when it comes to Inclusion Support, we look forward to ensuring the needs of all children are met in our program.
Our Team
YMCA Edens Landing OSHC has a strong team of educators that bring a range of innovative ideas to our service each day. The team is led by myself as Coordinator. I have completed a Bachelor of Social Science, Graduate Diploma in Education and a Diploma in Early childhood Education and Care. Before joining the YMCA in November 2014, I was employed as secondary school teacher. I gained experience in several private high schools across Queensland and NSW and still hold a current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. Since graduating from university I have continued to have a passion for learning and have attended numerous professional development courses within the education and care industry. I am supported in my role by five educators who are all currently enrolled and actively completing their studies in the areas of Education, Childcare and health. Our entire team is committed to providing a fun and safe OSHC environment for the children of Edens Landing.
